The Rochester Area Literacy Council is a professional organization whose members are dedicated to improving the quality of literacy instruction at all levels.  The Council:

1. -Provides opportunities for networking and sharing of instructional strategies and materials
   

2. -Sponsors conferences, meetings, and workshops to disseminate current research and best practices in literacy education.
   

3. -Provides and promotes community service and projects in support of literacy.
   

4. -Provides information and opportunities for being literacy advocates at the local, state, and national levels.
